               Happy End - 2009...Dina             

The Original Story... During the afternoon of 15 May, the secretary of Pro Animal Gomera (PAG) was alerted that abandoned dogs had been found at the “Ermita de Las Nieves” (Chapel of the Snow) located approximately 15 km West of San Sebastian on the way to Valle Gran Rey.  The pictures show one female “Bardino” (or what’s left of a Bardino) with her two puppies along with another female of mixed breed.   The mother dog and her approximately one month old babies had been starved as one can see in the pictures.  The mother dog is somewhat nervous and shy, but refuses to leave the puppies.  Both puppies have been injured in the head and the wounds have become infected.  We presume that somebody may have tried to stun or kill the puppies by hitting them on the head.  Naturally, we don’t know for sure, but the wounds look very suspicious.  We’ll know more once the animals have been examined by the Vet which will happen soon. Dina and Berdy are still on the Island of La Gomera, under the care of PAG, and the mother has been sent to a caring Foster Home on the island of Tenerife.  The puppies are normal, playful, curious, loving and just about ready for a new home.  They are a larger dog reaching around 60 cm tall and can weigh 25 to 30 kg. When they arrive in Germany they will be healthy, medically checked, de-wormed, de-fleaed, immunized, have an EU Passport and an implanted Microchip.  Sure hope one of you nice people takes a liking to her.

Die Originalgeschichte...   Am 15. Mai am Nachmittag erhielt die Schriftführerin von PAG einen Anruf, in dem ihr mitgeteilt wurde, dass ausgesetzte Hund an der Ermita de Las Nieves (Kapelle des Schnees) gesichtet wurden. Diese Kapelle liegt auf dem Weg von Valle Gran Rey nach San Sebastion, ungefähr 15 km entfernt nahe dem National Park. Die Bilder zeigen eine Bardinohündin (oder dass, was noch von einem Bardino übrig ist) mit ihren zwei Welpen und einem weiteren weiblichen Hund.   Die Mutter und ihre beiden Welpen, die ca. 4 Wochen alt sind, sind ausgehungert, wie man unschwer an den Bildern erkennen kann. Die Mutter ist etwas scheu und nervös, lässt aber die beiden Welpen nicht aus den Augen. Beide Welpen haben auf dem Kopf entzündete Verletzungen. Wir vermuten, dass versucht wurde, sie mit Schlägen auf den Kopf umzubringen. Das sind im Moment nur Vermutungen und genaueres erfahren wir, wenn die Tiere vom Tierarzt untersucht worden sind. Das wird jetzt geschehen.   Dina und Berdy (zwei Mädchen) sind noch auf  La Gomera, bei PAG und die Mutter ist auf einer Pflegestelle auf Teneriffa.  Die Welpen sind verspielt, neugierig, verschmust und bereit in eine neues Zuhause umzuziehrn. Es sind große Hunde, die durchaus eine Schulterhöhe von 60 cm erreichen und bis zu 30 kg wiegen können.   Bei ihrer Ankunft in Deutschland sind sie ganz gesund (auch die Wunde auf dem Kopf ist dann abgeheilt), sind entwurmt, entfloht geimpft, haben einen Mikrochip und den neuen blauen EU-Heimtierausweis. Mögen Sie nicht einem der beiden ein neues Zuhause geben wollen?

From the New Owner... Hello dear Family Schmidling, ..... Dina is a pretty mouse, but with a tick, now and then.  Not every dog is her friend, but we are working on it.  Attached are a few photos from the mouse.  Incidently, Dina has one ear that stands straight up and one floppy ear.  It looks so cute...(hihi) Dear greetings from Duisburg

Von der neuen Besitzerin... Hallo liebe Familie Schmidling,   ..... Dina, ja, sie ist eine hübsche Maus, aber eine Zicke ab und an. Nicht jeder Hund ist ihr Freund, aber wir arbeiten dran.   Anbei wieder ein paar neueren Bilder von der Maus.
