Happy End - 2009...Flaco

The Original Story...   Flaco was found a few weeks ago by a forest ranger in the middle of the Garajonay National Park.  He looks very much like a Podenco mix and, believe it or not, was much thinner when found than shown in these pictures.  He has visited the local Vet and his age is estimated to be approximately three years old.  The Ranger is not allowed to keep the dog in the Park (against Park regulations) so Flaco has been given up to PAG's foster care.  He has no problems with female dogs, but whether or not he has problems with other male dogs and cats is yet unknown.  He loves long walks and, when off the line, will chase rabbits when he can.   He seems very friendly with no trace of aggresitivity.  So far, he has been de-wormed and de-fleaed.  When he arrives here in Germany he will also have been thoroughly rechecked by the Vet.  He will also have been vaccinated, received a Microchip and will have the EU International Pass.   This looks like a dog for outdoor types, who love walking.  He will require some schooling, but when finished, will be a real charmer.

Die Originalgeschichte...   Flaco wurde vor einigen Wochen von einem Waldhüter in Garajonay Nationalpark gefunden. Offensichtlich war er dort ausgesetzt worden. Er sieht wie ein Podenco-Mischling aus und war wesentlich dünner als er jetzt ist und die Bilder zeigen. Er war beim Tierarzt und der schätzt ihn auf 3 Jahre. Der Waldhüter darf ihn nicht oben im Park behalten (das verstößt gegen die Regeln) und so kam Flaco zu PAG. Er hat keine Probleme mit Hündinnen, aber wie er auf Rüden und/oder Katzen reagiert, ist noch unbekannt. Er liebt lange Spaziergänge und wenn er nicht an der Leine ist, jagt er Kaninchen. Ansonsten ist er sehr freundlich und zeigt keine Zeichen von Aggressivität.    Er ist jetzt entwurmt und entfloht und wird geimpft, wenn er in einer besseren körperlichen Verfassung ist. Dann erhält er auch einen Mikrochip und seinen Reisepass.   Diese Art Hunde ist ein idealer Begleiter für sportliche Leute, die gern viel und lange spazieren gehen oder Rad fahren. Er wird noch etwas Erziehung brauchen, aber dann wird er ein richtiger Prachtkerl sein.

And More...   Hello,   Here I am in my new home.  True, I am being used as a cuddle blanket, but that is OK.  Jan-Luca just loves me and I like him very much.  It is just natural that we share everything.  Strolch also thinks the same.  Mama and Papa are totally happy that I get along so well with everyone.  Tinka and Lillie, the two cat ladies, are not afraid of me anymore.  In fact they have slept on the same blanket as me.  So, folks, if you are looking for a sensitive large dog, then take a look at my colleagues and get yourself a podenco or a mixed Podenco.  By character, we are wonderful dogs... Sniff, sniff, what smells here?  Oops, thet was me praising myself:-)

Und Mehr...   Hallo, hier bin ich in meinem neuen zu Hause. Ja, ich werde als Schmusedecke missbraucht, aber das macht nichts. Jan-Luca hat mich einfach nur lieb und ich mag ihn auch sehr gerne. Da ist es ganz natürlich das wir alles Teilen. Strolch ist da auch ganz meiner Meinung. Herrchen und Frauchen sind total happy das ich mich mit allen so gut verstehe. Tinka und Lillie, die zwei Katzendamen haben inzwischen auch keine Angst mehr vor mir. Auch sie haben schon mit mir auf einer Decke geschlafen. Also Leute, wenn Ihr einen sanften Riesen sucht dann helft meinen Kollegen und gönnt euch einen Podenco oder Podenco-Mix. Vom Wesen her sind wir echt tolle Hunde. schnüfel, schnüfel, was riecht denn hier so? Ups, das war das Eigenlob :-)
