The Original Story...

May I introduce Handy, one of the Chipude five-pack…

The animal protection association, Pro Animal Gomera (PAG) received an emergency call early on the 22nd of March, reporting that there were five very young puppies running free along the roads in the village of Chipude.  There were six, but one had been hit by a car and was killed.  The mother, a Bardino mix, was apparently hit by a car the week before and she had also been killed.  Since then the puppies were running wild.

Representatives from PAG went to investigate and found the report to be correct and they proceeded to collect the little orphans.  Surprise, surprise!!!  The little ones are all females.  It seems that any males had already been adopted or picked up.  It appears that two of the puppies have already had run ins with cars.  Handy has a leg injury and has difficulty walking, while Hocy has an injury on her nose.

The puppies seem to be around eight weeks old and are very friendly and love to be petted.  They are on their way to the Vet and will be housed in a foster home until they can be transported to Germany.  Remember, the chances of female dogs being adopted on the Island are somewhat slim.
