Happy End - 2010...Tom (Aroyo)

Die Originalgeschichte...   Aroyo wurde auf einem verwilderte Grundstück in der Nähe eines Einkaufszentrums aufgegriffen. Er strolchte da schon etliche Zeit herum und wurde abeobachtet,dasss er immer wieder über eine stark befahrene Straße lief. Er kann zu einem Helfer von Pro Animal Gomera. Der kleine war offensichtlich ausgesetzt worden, denn er hatte noch Spuren eines Halsbandes an sich. Obwohl das Gesetz verlangt, dass Hunde gechipt sein müssen, er war es nicht.   Aroyo ist ungefähr 7 Monate alt und sieht wie ein Terrier Mischling aus. Wie üblich wird er zur Vermittlung auf der Insel ausgeschrieben, aber die Chancen, dass er ein neues Zuhause findet, sind gering. Deshalb soll er nach Deutschland kommen, wo wir hoffen, für ihn ein neues liebevolles Zuhause zu finden.   Ist das der kleine Hund nach dem Sie schon immer suchten?

The Original Story... Aroyo, was found wandering around some empty lots near a commercial center. He was finally picked up when he started running into heavy traffic in the streets and brought to a “friend” of the animal protection association Pro Animal Gomera (PAG).  Aroyo had apparently been abandoned since he still had marks of a collar on his neck.  Although a law exists that all dogs must be micro-chipped, he was not.   Aroyo is approximately seven months old and looks like a mixed Terrier.  As always, he will be offered for adoption on the Island, but because there is no shelter on the Island where people who wish a dog can go, his chances of finding a new home there are slim.  Therefore, he is is being prepared to travel to Germany where he hopes to find a a new loving life.   Could this be the little fellow you were looking for?

Von der neuen Besitzerin...   Liebe Frau Schmidling,   ich hoffe, Sie hatten eine gute Zeit auf Tenerifa bzw. La Gomera (?) und konnten wieder ein paar Tieren helfen.   Da Tom, alias Aroyo, jetzt seit knapp einem Viertel Jahr bei uns ist, wollte ich Ihnen neben den Wünschen für das Neue Jahr ein paar Zeilen zu ihm schreiben.   Dem Kleinen, der mittlerweile doch recht groß geworden ist, geht es prächtig. Er versteht sich gut mit Kater Peter, wobei Peter der eindeutige Chef im Minirudel ist ;-)   Mit der neuen Umgebung kommt er auch bestens klar. Wir können ihn jetzt auch zuhause für ein paar Stunden mit Peter alleine lassen. Außer, dass er gelegentlich noch an das Katzenklos geht und auf dem Sofa meines Mannes liegt, ist alles bestens. Er macht nichts kaputt und passt prima auf das Haus und Peter auf.   Spaziergänge liebt er absolut und mit einer Regendecke ausgestattet, war er auch schon intensiv im Schnee spazieren. Tom hat viele Hundefreunde gefunden. Am liebsten tollt er mit unserem Nachbarhund, einem Airedale Terrier, oder seinem Freund Timo herum. Sonntags gehen wir meistens mit einer Hundegruppe wandern. Bis zu 13 Hunde sind da vertreten und ich muss wohl kaum erwähnen, er da am lebhaftesten ist...   Im Herbst war Tom auch schon mehrmals mit Joggen im Lauftreff und mit mir und Stute Hiberna im Gelände. Hund und Pferd vertragen sich zum Glück sehr gut.   Ab Januar geht es in die Hundeschule, um noch etwas besseren Gehorsam zu lernen und agility zu machen. Energie hat der Kerl nämlich für drei.   Anbei habe ich ein paar Fotos angehängt. Ich hoffe, dass es Ihnen gut geht und Sie uns mal besuchen kommen.   Liebe Grüße auch an Ihren Mann,   Jaqueline G.

From the New Owner...   Dear Mrs. Schmidling,   I hope you had a goodtime on Tenerifa and La Gomera (?) and were able to help a couple more animals.   Since Tom, alias Aroyo, has been with us for a quarter year, I would like to, besides wishing you a good New Year, write a few lines about him.   The little one, that in the meantime has grown, is getting along wonderfully.  He has no problem with Peter, our cat, even though Peter is the absolute leader of our mini pack. ;-)   He also has no problems with learning new things.  We can now leave him alone at home, with Peter, for a couple of hours.  Except when he every once in awhile gets into the cat toilet and climbs on my husbands sofa, everything is fine.  He doesn’t destroy anything and watches out for the house and Peter.   He absolutely loves to go for walks and when he is wearing his rain jacket, he loves to walk in the snow.  Tom has found many dog friends.  He plays best with our neighbor’s dog, an Airedale Terrier. or his friend Timo.  On Sundays we walk with a group of dogs.  Up to 13 dogs are together and I shouldn’t have to mention just how lively he is.   In the Fall, Tom went jogging many times on a running machine and went with me and our horse, Hiberna, in the fields.  The dog and horse get along with each other very well.   Starting January, he will be going to dog school in order to learn how to listen to commands better and for agility.  The young fellow has enough energy for three.   I have attached a couple of photos.  I hope that everything goes well with you and that can visit us soon.   Dear greetings, also to your husband,   Jaqueline G.
